Disability in the Office of the Public Service Commission entails the promotion of equal opportunity and fair treatment of employment through the elimination of unfair discrimination and implementation of affirmative action measures to redress the disadvantages in employment experienced by people with disabilities and to ensure that people with disabilities do not experience exclusion and subtle discrimination in the Office of the Public Service Commission. | |
GENDER | |
Gender is to bring a gender perspective into all aspects of planning, policy, legislation development and transformation activities within the scope of work for the Office of the Public Service Commission. It will also attempt to eradicate sexist or gender discriminatory attitudes and practises within our structures and amongst all employees within the Office, including those involved in policy making and service delivery. | |
YOUTH | |
The Office of the Public Service Commission considers Youth development to be fundamental to the development of South Africa. The Office envisages a future for all young women and men in South Africa that is free from racial and gender discrimination in promoting a democratic, united, peaceful and prosperous society. | |
HIV/AIDS | |
It is the policy of the Office of the Public Service Commission to raise awareness of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus [HIV] and the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome [AIDS] and Sexually Transmitted Infections [STI�s], to ensure a better understanding of HIV and AIDS as well as STI�s in the workplace, seek to minimize the socio-economic and developmental effect these diseases have on employees within the Office, to prohibit unfair discrimination on the basis of HIV/AIDS status and to promote a gender sensitive programme that empower employees to be able to protect themselves from contracting HIV/AIDS. |
